I used to think all I needed was a great story idea. That was when I was a fledgling writer. Now I have so many ideas popping out of my mind that I never know which to write. A part of me is afraid I’ll start and not finish because I’ll lose interest in it.
I have figured out a solution: sit down and write an outline and a summary. If I’m still interested then I write a 3 act structure. And if I’m still feeling it I write character backgrounds (some characters from other story ideas may be used) and by now the story finds itself and pulls me inside.
